Carolina Foundation for Jewish Seniors, the public name of BJH Foundation for Senior Services corporation, was built upon a fundamental need to care for Jewish seniors in North and South Carolina.

CFJS grew out of The Blumenthal Jewish Home for the Aged (the Home), established in 1962, providing nursing care for Jewish residents at the facility. The physical structure of the nursing home was located in Clemmons, North Carolina.

In the late 1990’s, the Board of Directors expanded support to better serve Jewish seniors in the Carolinas by selling the facility. The proceeds along with an existing endowment formed CFJS. Now many more Jewish seniors are served as CFJS distributes grants to non-profit organizations providing life enriching programs to Jewish seniors in North and South Carolina.
